A SHORT NOTE ON THE WINTER APPLICATION
FROM HAMMERSTONE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS
We have treated your lawn with a liquid application today. This application contains Fertilizer, Iron, Micro & Macro Nutrients, a Post-emergent and a Pre-emergent Broadleaf Weed Control. This application will control the broadleaf weeds currently in your lawn and will keep others from germinating. If it does not rain within twenty-one days, you will need to water your lawn to a depth of one-half inch, in order to activate the pre-emergent weed control. Note: Please keep children and pets off of the lawn until it has dried. It should be dry in one hour.
Most of the broadleaf weeds we see in the spring and summer germinate during the months of January through April. We have used this product for the last four years and have received excellent results in our customer's lawns, especially with fewer weed retreatments and call backs. We are the only lawn care company in this area using this product.
Once your lawn begins to green up and start growing again, it will be okay to lower your mower height back down to three or four inches. A lower mowing height may be detrimental to the health of your lawn. Also, remember to keep the leaves off the lawn once they have fallen. Grass will die if leaves are allowed to stay on the lawn for more than four or five days.
In five to six weeks, we will be out to do the early spring application. We will begin this application toward the end of January and continue it through early to mid March. Due to new advances in technology and research, we will be doing a dry granular application. This application will contain: Fertilizer, Iron, Micro & Macro Nutrients, a Pre-emergent Broadleaf Weed Control and a Pre-emergent for annual weed grasses. This application will guarantee our customers a full year free of broadleaf weeds and crabgrass. University trials confirm these findings. We expect to achieve 98% control of the broadleaf weeds and crabgrass in our customers' lawns for 1999. This will mean more satisfied customers and less retreatments to your lawns.

We should achieve a success this coming year that other companies can only dream of. Remember, the Winter Application is 1.3 times the cost of your regular application cost, due to the use of Gallery in our application.
