First appears as small patches of water-soaked plants
Patches become bleached to light pink or red
Leaf tips or margins may be covered with fine pink to red
threads
Size of patches generally small (2-6")

Grasses Affected: |
Most common on fine fescue and ryegrass, but also occurs
on Kentucky bluegrass and bentgrass

Causal Agent(s): |
Fungi: Laetisaria fuciformis & Limonomyces roseipellis
|
Time of Occurence: |
Fall and spring to summer
In Northwest may be a problem at any time
|
Conditions that Favor Disease: |
More severe in cooler weather, but will occur under a variety
of temperatures
Moist conditions (heavy dews, fog or drizzly rains)
