  • White to gray powdery growth on leaf surfaces
  • Later, leaves may turn yellow
  • Thinning may occur
  • Grasses
    Affected:
  • Primarily Kentucky bluegrass, fine fescue and
        bermudagrass
  • Causal
    Agent(s):
  • Fungus: Erysiphe graminis
  • Time of
    Occurence:
  • Spring to fall
  • Conditions that
    Favor Disease:
  • Temperatures around 65º F
  • Reduced air circulation
  • High atmospheric humidity, but no free water on leaves
  • Low light intensity
