Tiny larvae hang by silken thread; and
travel with air currents
Larvae black and hairy
Adult moths white to tan
Egg masses on tree trunks, branches,
buildings, fences, etc. Tan or buff-colored
Note:
Completely defoliated stands of trees will
releaf the next Spring. Two or more years
of defoliation often result in tree decline.
